Located in the southern area of Playa del Carmen, Playacar began to be built 10 years ago is one of the first gated communities in the city, that has condos, villas, beautiful houses, and luxury hotels. It is divided into two phases, phase 1 being the smallest and most exclusive, mostly residential area and small hotels, and phase 2, larger with more amenities such as a golf course, condos, aviary, a small mall, and all-inclusive hotels. Phase 1 has only one entrance, while phase 2 has 4.

Playacar has a beautiful beach in front of it, unlike the rest of the beaches in downtown Playa del Carmen, these have a larger sand area. A beautiful white sand beach, especially the beach in front of phase 1. Due to its location, hotels and resorts have been located within this exclusive area, offering the tranquility and security that this gated community offers to its visitors and residents.

In phase 1 you can find the ruins of Xaman-ha, the first town found by the Spanish in this area. Xaman-ha means ‘water from the north’, and it is presumed that it has that name because it is located near the sea.

In the same way, it has some activities so that you do not have to always move to the center of Playa del Carmen, such as Starbucks, convenience stores and Oxxos, restaurants in a closed, protected, and well-manicured community so that you feel comfortable inside and outside of your home.

And life in Playacar is quite quiet, on a normal day you can go for a coffee at Starbucks if you are a tourist you can go to the small mall next door to buy souvenirs, go to the beach or play golf in the morning and have lunch in one. from the restaurants, in the afternoon go for a walk or ride a bike with the children or your pet.
