The weather in Riviera Maya is fluctuating, we are lucky to have sunny days all year round and at the same time, as they say in my country, “the clearest day rains”, which also benefits us because it is how the jungle of Riviera Maya is always green, and as residents of the area, we get used to these climatic changes.

However, this year the hurricane season has been very active, and with it, the amount of rain we have received, especially in the last two weeks, has made us a bit secluded at home. Rainy days do not impede you to enjoy doing something new in the area, there are activities that we can continue experiencing or do for the first time, and here I share some of them that you can replicate
with your guests.

Playa del Carmen’s aquarium
This is a complete indoor activity where you can appreciate a little of the marine fauna, through several exhibits where in addition to having a pleasant time, you can learn a little about tropical fish, as well as the importance of coral reefs.

Visit the Planetarium
There are four planetariums in Riviera Maya; in Chetumal, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, and Cancun, and it is an interesting and different activity that includes children and adults. You can enjoy the observatory and it is an activity to do either day or night.

Rio Secreto
Rio Secreto is an underground cenote, you can swim or walk around the paths inside. As it is an underground cenote, rain is not a problem to be able to enjoy the stalagmites and stalactites in its caverns.

And there are other closed cenotes such as Sac Actun, Chaak-Tun, Santa Cruz among others.

3D Museum of Wonders
This museum is located in Playa del Carmen and has excellent 3D paintings, which allows you to take the best and funniest photographs.

There are other museums that you could also visit such as Mystika in Tulum and Sfer Ik the museum of the Azulik hotel in Tulum.
