Located 16 kilometers north of Tulum, the great white and blue slide rises and makes us realize that we are already in the Xcaret water park, Xel-ha. Its name comes from the Mayan words ‘xel’, piece, entrance, and ‘ha’, water; that is to say, “water entrance”, alluding to the geography of the place. The cove of Xelhá is one of the most important on the Quintana Roo coast since pre-Hispanic times because it is a natural shelter area. It was also used as a commercial center, pilgrimage point, refuge for sailors, and food reserve for the variety of different species of plants and animals that inhabit the area.

Since 1995, Xel-Há has opened its doors as an all-inclusive water park whose emblematic natural cove is an important part of it. Xel-ha stands as a model of sustainable tourism with activities for each member of the family.

The list of activities offered by Xel-Ha, as follows:

o Unlimited snorkeling in the cove
o Tire ride on the river.
o El Faro Mirador with 360 ° views
o Continental breakfast.
o Snacks and buffet.
o Unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and domestic open bar.
o Adventure World: rope games, zip lines and jumps from 5 meters high.
o Tour in the middle of the jungle.
o Cenotes and caves.
o The Meliponario and the Nursery.
o Special games for the little ones in the Children’s World.

In the same way, in Xel-Ha you can find more than a thousand kilometers of underground rivers that interconnect with each other, at least four different types of mangroves, guided tours to learn about the ecosystem in the cove, and the conservation plans that are carried out on it. You can get to know the manatees, different Mayan legends, the Chacas garden, the Snail Sanctuary, and an impressive plant nursery.

Xel-ha is without a doubt one of the places that you should not miss during your stay in Riviera Maya. Have you already visited it?
